Everyone’s got their own way of dressing for the seasons, some people run hot, some run cold, and it shows in what they reach for in the closet. Reading Tops or Bottoms? by Mike Helmers this week got me thinking, why not do a fun post about what I wear through the seasons too?
Outside, mine stays the same all year. A short-sleeve shirt, even in winter. I get hot easily, so long sleeves are a no for me. In winter, I always bring my coat, a Duluth Trading one, bear logo and all. If winter is oddly warm, I'll swap it for a light jacket instead.
Inside is different. Most of the time I dress light, even in winter. Usually shorts and a t-shirt. On the rare occasion it gets too cold indoors too, I switch to joggers.
For bottoms, I wear pants almost everywhere outside. Shorts indoors, no problem. Out in public, mostly nope, except in summer, if I'm already wearing shorts and need to run out quick, I won't bother changing.
Otherwise, I just don't love showing my legs outside. My legs are WHITE. Chicken legs. Nobody outside these walls needs to see that. HA.
One more quirk: I only grab a light blanket when I actually feel cold, winter or not, even summer. Otherwise, no blanket at all.
So: shirt and pants outside, shorts inside, coat by the door, light blanket only when I need it. What about you?
AI disclosure: Started from my short draft, AI (Claude) helped write this, and I edited, added some more, and approved the final version.
