I just finished watching the Apple event, and the iPhone Duo was probably the thing I paid the most attention to.
I already have a Pixel Fold, and I love it. Mine has a 5.8-inch outer screen and a 7.6-inch inner screen, so Apple’s foldable already feels pretty familiar to me. I’ve already been living with that kind of phone for a while.
The thing that did catch my eye was the dock moving to the side when the Duo is unfolded.

Hmm. Interesting.
On my Pixel Fold, the dock stays at the bottom, and honestly, I have never had a problem with it there. But I guess Apple wanted to do something a little different. Apple has to Apple sometimes. 😏
Still, not bad.
The bigger issue for me isn’t really the foldable hardware anyway. It’s iOS. I have never been a big fan of how the iOS ecosystem is set up, and Android just works better for me.
And there is another important reason I stay with Android: ASL-to-text. iOS still does not have it. 🙄 For me, that matters a lot more than where Apple decides to put the dock.
So no, the iPhone Duo is not pulling me away from Android right now.
But I am curious.
I’ll keep watching where Apple takes its foldable and see what they do with it next.
