I heard about Apple’s smart home hub a while back. Now it looks like it might actually happen. Bloomberg reports it could ship this fall or early next year, along with a refreshed Apple TV and HomePod mini. The big feature: face recognition that pulls up your calendar and notes when it sees you.

So now I’m sitting here thinking: should I buy one? I already have too many gadgets sitting around. Portals, laptops, tablets. Maybe I don’t need another screen. It’s just a nice idea. Nice to look at.
