You know how some people collect stamps or vintage records? I collect random things. It's honestly my favorite thing - shuffling through the vast web, discovering stuff I never knew existed. So here's what caught my attention lately. Someone once said, “The more you know, the more you realize you don’t know.” Turns out that’s annoyingly true. My mamaw started a tradition of giving me a John Grisham book every Christmas. After she died, my parents kept it going. Grisham releases about one book a year, so I’ve got them all in my collection. Just got The Widow last Christmas and I can’t wait to read it. Such a special tradition to continue.

Just learned a new word and thought it was fun to create a sentence using that word … 😉

Looking at my subfusc wardrobe lately—all these dark, dull colors—and realizing I need more brightness in my life. Time for a change—add some color and energy.

ADJECTIVE 1. Having little brightness or appeal.

This chicken pot pie soup looks so good. Definitely going on my list to make one day. Perfect comfort food for winter—has all those cozy pot pie flavors but in soup form. My kind of meal right now.

Found a good article that really resonated with me. Forget grand New Year’s resolutions—meaning comes from small, consistent actions. One page read, one short walk, one message sent. Those tiny tweaks add up. Worth a read if you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Read more here.

People who experience more meaning tend to report better wellbeing, lower stress and depression, and greater resilience when life becomes difficult.

24 monks walked 2,300 miles, 180 day, from Texas to DC for peace—dressed in saffron robes & often barefoot, they crossed ice & snow. One lost his leg but returned in a wheelchair. Dog Aloka (“divine light”) walked beside them. Link

“We are here for just one mission: peace for ourselves, our country, & the universe. We all believe different faiths & have different mindsets, but all religions teach how to purify our minds & become good in society. Ultimately, they teach us to return to one religion: peace, love, kindness, and compassion.” - Bhikkhu Pannakara

Saw Primate & loved seeing Troy Kotsur! Great deaf representation. Intense movie. Random word stuck with me: Hydrophobia, though not 100% medically accurate. Won’t explain—spoilers—but watch it and you’ll see. Pretty clever how they used it in the story. Trailer: youtu.be/wo87F-va4…

Drew Barrymore and I are the same age! She turns 51 on Feb 22; me in August. I always thought she was older. Remember her in ET? Adorable. In Firestarter, she was frightened and overwhelmed by her powers.

Crazy we’re the same age after watching her my whole life.

I watched the trailer for the film Rental Family last month and wanted to see it. I was hoping it would be released for streaming soon. It turns out it will be available on Hulu/Disney on February 18. I’m excited and can’t wait to watch it! Trailer: youtu.be/dWSSjaIGd…

I watched Enola Holmes 1 and 2. They are entertaining and funny, and I enjoyed them. The third movie is coming soon to Netflix, and I can’t wait to see it.

Fun Fact: Enola Holmes 2 is based on the real 1888 Match Girls' Strike! Sarah Chapman led workers against phosphorus that caused ‘Phossy Jaw.’

Just saw this on Facebook and wanted to share it here. It’s a cool poster, and Janie Lee is playing a character in it! I can’t wait—she’s great. Also, I heard Kidman has been asking for a screenplay for 20 years! Wow, it finally paid off!

Finally solved my small dining table problem! Got a vertical monitor stand coming Friday that’ll stack my two monitors on top of each other. Small table, big productivity boost. I’m so ready for this setup! Excited and a little anxious—just hoping it’s great and I don’t run into any issues! 🙌

“Women and girls struggle with anorexia—the feeling they’re never thin enough. Now there’s something affecting men and boys that’s just as serious, but way less talked about. It’s called bigorexia. Ever heard of it? I hadn’t. Here’s what parents need to know.

I’m a sucker for good home decor ideas. This spring, I’m finally going to add some personalized touches around the house and get some artwork up on the walls. Can’t wait to make this place feel more like me—beautiful and exciting. Want more on personalized decor? Check it out here.

New study finds companies that rush to replace workers with robots might actually hurt themselves. Turns out the competitive edge isn’t in humans and robots working together, not replacement. Still, it’s scary watching companies try to automate people out of jobs.

I’ve always wanted to start a bullet journal. It was created by a designer who needed a better way to stay organized and focused. The idea of having one simple place for goals, habits, and daily tasks really appeals to me. Might finally give it a shot this year. Link, Link, and Link
