​I just learned that if you want Apple’s most powerful, next-gen on-device AI, the hardware requirements just took a serious jump. To run their top-tier local model, you would have one of those devices below:

• iPhone 17 Pro/Air
• M4 iPad (or higher)
• M3 Mac (or higher)
• and at least 12GB of unified memory

​Looking at all the Apple devices I own, my M5 MacBook Air with 24GB of RAM is the only machine that makes the cut.

I guess I will wait until the fall to try it out…
