Memory makers are only expected to meet 60 percent of demand by the end of 2027. Link by @theverge.com

Memory makers are racing to expand, but AI-driven demand for HBM is outstripping supply. With new fabs not fully online until 2027–2028, experts warn of a 40% shortfall and shortages lasting until 2030. Expect volatile prices for RAM and consumer tech for the foreseeable future. Yikes!

Tesla brings its robotaxi service to Dallas and Houston by @techcrunch.com

“Robotaxi is now rolling out in Dallas & Houston 🤠” and includes a 14-second video showing Tesla vehicles driving without human monitors or drivers in the front seat.

Earlier, I wrote a post about Waymo. You can find it here. Now Tesla’s robotaxi service is coming to two cities in Texas. Hmm.

Do Kindles Need Screen Protectors? by bgr.com

That’s interesting. I’ve owned at least three Kindles, a Kobo, and a Boox, and I’ve never actually needed a screen protector. I always use a cover, and since e-ink screens aren’t made of glass like a phone, they don’t really crack the same way. It’s never felt necessary. What do you think? Do you put a screen protector on your Kindle?

Though I still have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and use it occasionally, I mainly rely on my Android phone daily. I generally prefer Android over iOS, but to fully enjoy Android’s benefits, high-end phones are often the best.

After being an iPhone user for 13 years…decided to switch to Android for good

EVs chew through tires faster than gas cars — heavy batteries and instant torque put extra stress on every acceleration. A former Michelin executive put a number on it:

“EVs tend to wear out their tires up to 20% faster than standard gas vehicles.”

Many EV tires are designed for low rolling resistance — harder tread compounds, shallower depth. Less tread from the start equals a shorter lifespan.

I passed my permit test, and I’ve been going back and forth between an EV, a hybrid, or a gas car for my first car. Good to know what I’d actually be signing up for.

Would You Want a Robot Teacher?

“A.I. should never provide the final answer. Kids can use it to brainstorm or explore, but they must produce their own first draft or solution.” —Vivienne Ming, a neuroscientist and A.I. researcher

While Ming views AI as a tool for cognitive scaffolding, the sheer speed of its integration into our schools feels less like a choice and more like an inevitability.

The global humanoid race is heating up as Europe enters the ring! 🇪🇺 🤖

BMW is now testing Hexagon AB’s AEON robot at its Leipzig plant, marking its first humanoid pilot in Europe. From battery assembly to precision scanning, the AI revolution is going physical.

The era of “someday” is over. With Agibot racing to match Tesla’s Optimus output, humanoid robots are moving from labs to our streets. Seeing this mass production scale up so fast is a wild reality check. Science fiction is officially becoming our daily commute. They’re here among us. 🤖🦾

I was using my iPhone 12 Max and found copying and pasting difficult when I needed to use three or more items. On Android, it’s easier because I can access copy history and paste five or six items when I needed them. I’m glad I have an Android; without it, I would find it frustrating.

No robots

No Robots! My home is a bot-free zone. Watch this—impressive, but is it for me? I’ll stick to doing it myself! I value the effort and the satisfaction of a job well done. Team Human all the way!
